Renew Pipe Guide

Relining Options

Relining Options Explained

Relining rebuilds a pipe from inside. It can be the right answer for a structurally sound but cracked or root-prone line, and the wrong answer for a collapsed or bellied one.

Symptoms we're called for

  • A line that keeps growing roots despite cleaning
  • Cracks and joint failures in otherwise straight runs
  • Disruption concerns about open-cut replacement

Property types

  • Lateral and building drain lines
  • Vertical stacks where access suits
  • Storm and process lines by assessment

Methods used

  • Option comparison: CIPP, slip-lining, spray liners
  • Access, dimension and bend constraints explained
  • Cost and lifespan expectations framed honestly

Limitations, stated plainly

  • The Leak.ca network does not perform relining; this is guidance based on inspection evidence
  • Lining does not fix grade problems, collapses or upstream defects

What you receive

  • An options briefing for your specific line
  • Constraint checklist for each method
  • Vendor questions and warranty considerations

Next steps

  • Get at least two quotes with footage
  • Verify method suitability against the inspection
  • Inspect after installation
